How to Take Perfect Selfies with Your iPhone: Tips to Click Awesome Selfie

These days everyone is familiar with the idea of clicking selfies using their smartphones. The word selfie has become so popular and common that it even got added to the Oxford dictionary. Selfies offer you a great way to show off things like your new hairdo, some amazing new thing you found, quick facial expressions as an alternative for emojis, a quick & quirky snap with your friends or famous celebs you come across, etc. Taking a selfie may seem simple, but not all of you manage to get the perfect selfie that you expect every time you click a snap. Knowing how to capture an eye-catching selfie can make your little moments much more memorable.

How to Take Perfect Selfies with your iPhone

Keep Away from the Bland

The vital point to remember while taking selfies is that at its most basic level a selfie is an unconventional photo of your own self. Therefore, a touch of innovation is required even in your facial expressions to make it work. While sending a selfie to someone or uploading it to the Internet, you need to lend it some character, some personality. Reaction shots make up some of the best received selfies out there as they give a certain context to the shot instead of a formulaic straight smile. Moreover, selfies associated with a context also carry more emotional input making the image go viral as it shows a human moment instead of a fake posed shot.

Size up a Square Shot

Most of the selfies are taken to be shared online on Instagram and other such social sharing sites with your friends and the world at large. This being the case, it makes sense to have a properly sized shot to avoid the unnecessary cropping process before putting it online.

Use the Volume Button or a Remote Shutter

With the generous size of iPhone 6, you can now grip it in a convenient manner to take a clear selfie. The size is big enough to enable you to hold your iPhone properly so that the thumb of your left hand or the index finger of your right hand should get positioned aptly on the up volume button when you extend your hands for a shot. Once positioned this way, you can capture the photo by pressing the top volume button rather than attempting to tentatively hold the phone’s bottom and tap the on-screen virtual button. Such a technique also lets you drop your worries about putting down the phone.
A Shot from the Right Angle can be Magical

Like with general photography, the sense of angles plays a very important role in taking amazing selfies. Shooting a picture from a very low angle below your face can leave you with an undesirable profile of your face with non-existent double chins and possibly weary looking eyelids. Going for an angle too high can also leave you looking weird and in a pose way out of style.

A reasonable angle, perhaps a magic selfie angle, to practice maybe by holding phone in your arm directly in from of your chest resulting in a 90 degree angle between your arm and your upper body. Then, shift it around 15 degrees to the side leaving your arm come in line with your shoulder and then up about 10 degrees. Doing this gives a nice added dimension to your selfies by giving a little glimpse of the background behind the top of your head. Any hand can be used depending on your preference. If multiple people need to be captured in a selfie, using a selfie stick makes sense.

Freeze Moving things with Burst Mode

The Burst mode is becoming exceedingly popular these days as a great way to capture moving action. iPhone 6 gives you the burst mode option for your front-facing camera, thus enabling you to capture a selfie with a mobile object in your background. The iPhone 6 camera can grab 10 images in a row using the burst mode with the click of just one button. There is also an additional extra mode within this option that lets you choose between different versions of the photo to pick the best one. The burst mode makes selfie-graphy exciting, opening a plethora of possible experiments to try out for enthusiasts.

Make Use of the Filters

It is an understood fact that the front cameras are low in resolution and hence it is obvious that the selfies you take come out with grains. Especially, if the condition is low light, then all you get is a pathetic picture of you. This is where the filters come in handy. The filters and photo extensions in iOS 8 significantly enhance your selfies which are clicked in lowlight or other distorting conditions. After all, none of you is going to print your selfie, so you need not fear or have the worry of damaging the originality of the photo. For instance, the Afterlight’s photo extension is one such amazing filter.

Mirror on the Wall

Naturally we all like to take a selfie and share whenever we experiment with a new hairdo or make-up for opinions. So, why not take a snap of the mirror with the back camera of your iPhone? By this way you can inspect the framing of the selfie clearly. Also, the clicked photo is of high quality as a result of using back camera. You don’t get these advantages while using your front camera for clicking selfies.

Lighting is Important for Selfies

Lighting plays a key role in the outcome of a perfect photo and selfies are no exception. Irrespective of your camera’s resolution if the lighting is poor, then nothing can save the photo from being imperfect. Make sure you have turned off your iPhone’s flash, particularly when you are taking selfies outdoors. If you are taking selfies indoors, make sure that you are facing the light and not with your back towards the light. Avoid using light that is too dark or too bright; instead depend on natural light most of the times.

Use iPhone Self Timer App

If you wish to take selfies with self-timer technique, there are plenty of external self-timer apps that get your work done. All you have to do is position your iPhone on a table with a solid support, go & stand on the focused area and pose, the app does the rest of the magic. Some of the popular self timer apps include Camera Timer, TimerCam and GorillaCam.

How to Change Slow Motion Video Recording on iPhone 6/6 Plus

The Camera app of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has added some cool tricks such as Time Lapse and many other tools for video recording. While most of them are easily discernible, a few tricks might not have been discovered as yet by many camera lovers
The newest iPhone has added 240 FPS as the default choice for Slo-mo video recording. Earlier, the maximum you could go by just 120 FPS. So, it is exactly double the speed what it was before. Though the picture quality of slow-motion video is pretty attractive, they might just clutter your device for space. Hence, you might just require keeping this default option in check.

How To Change Slow Motion Video Recording Speed in iOS 8 on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

Step #1. Launch Camera App and swipe to the right till you find the Slo- Mo video recording section.

Step #2. Tap on the 240 FPS (generally, it is set by default). When you tap on it, 120 FPS will be selected.
Step #3. Tap on the red button to start the video recording. You can also check out at which speed a video is being recorded in the corner of the view finder. To change it again, stop video recording and then tap on the label.

That’s it!

When Apple introduced slow-motion video recording, it was just limited to 120 which is still there but now you’ve got the option to choose as per need.

For those having 64 or 128 GB iPhone 6/6 Plus might not face any difficulty due to the huge size of the videos recorded at 240 FPS but it always pays to know the trick.

If the rumour mills prove right, the upcoming iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 might feature the best ever Camera app with 13 megapixels and two lens DSLR imagery. So, if you are waiting for great things to come for Camera app, it might just be the cake on the icing.

Introduction

Accidents involving 18-wheelers are distinct from typical car accidents due to the sheer size and weight of these commercial vehicles. In such cases, the consequences can be devastating, leading to severe injuries, financial losses, and emotional distress. Maximizing your claim in an 18-wheeler accident is essential to regain control of your life and secure the resources needed to recover.

The Complex Nature of 18-Wheeler Accidents

18-wheeler accidents are complicated events involving multiple parties, including the truck driver, the trucking company, and potentially other motorists. Establishing liability and securing appropriate compensation is a multifaceted process that demands expertise in both personal injury law and the regulations governing the trucking industry. This is why seeking guidance from experienced 18-wheeler accident lawyers is paramount.

Tip 1: Seek Immediate Medical Attention

Your health should be your top priority after an 18-wheeler accident. Even if your injuries appear minor, some conditions may not manifest immediately. Seeking prompt medical attention not only ensures your well-being but also creates a documented trail of your injuries, which is vital for your claim.

Tip 2: Document the Accident Scene

If it is safe to do so, document the accident scene by taking photographs and collecting contact information from witnesses. Visual evidence can be invaluable in establishing fault and liability.

Tip 3: Preserve Evidence

Preserve any evidence related to the accident, such as damaged property, clothing, or personal effects. These items can serve as critical evidence in your claim.

Tip 4: Contact Law Enforcement

Call the police to the accident scene. Their report will contain important details, and it's often required when pursuing an insurance claim or lawsuit.

Tip 5: Consult an Attorney

Contact an attorney who specializes in 18-wheeler accidents as soon as possible. Their expertise is invaluable in navigating the complexities of these cases. A qualified lawyer can help you understand your rights and guide you through the entire process.

Tip 6: Communicate Cautiously

Be cautious when communicating with the trucking company or their insurance representatives. Avoid making any statements that could be used against you. Your attorney can help you handle communications and negotiations effectively.

Tip 7: Avoid Quick Settlements

Trucking companies and insurance companies may offer quick settlements to minimize their liability. It's often in your best interest to consult with your attorney before accepting any settlement offers to ensure they adequately cover your damages.

Tip 8: Understand Liability

Liability in 18-wheeler accidents can be complex. It could involve the driver, the trucking company, or even the manufacturer in some cases. Your attorney will investigate to determine who is responsible for your injuries.

Tip 9: Value Your Damages Accurately

Work with your attorney to calculate the true extent of your damages, including medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering. Accurate valuation is crucial for maximizing your claim.

Tip 10: Negotiate Effectively

Your attorney will skillfully negotiate with insurance companies and the at-fault party to secure the highest possible settlement. Their experience is invaluable in this process.

Tip 11: Be Prepared for Litigation

If negotiations fail to yield a fair settlement, be prepared to pursue your claim in court. Your attorney will guide you through the litigation process, ensuring your rights are protected.

Tip 12: Watch Out for Insurance Companies

Insurance companies may employ tactics to minimize payouts. Your attorney will help you navigate these challenges and advocate for your rights.

Tip 13: Know the Statute of Limitations

Each state has a statute of limitations that dictates how long you have to file a lawsuit after an accident. Your attorney will ensure you meet these deadlines.

Tip 14: Understand Comparative Negligence

Some states follow a comparative negligence rule, which means your compensation may be reduced if you're found partially at fault for the accident. Your attorney will help you understand how this rule applies to your case.

Tip 15: Don't Overlook Emotional Damages

In addition to physical injuries, 18-wheeler accidents can result in emotional trauma. Ensure that emotional damages are not overlooked in your claim.

Tip 16: Keep an Eye on Future Medical Costs

Consider the long-term impact of your injuries. Some injuries may require ongoing medical treatment, and your claim should account for these future costs.

Tip 17: Be Aware of Government Regulations

The trucking industry is heavily regulated. Your attorney will investigate whether any violations of these regulations contributed to the accident.

Tip 18: Seek Compensation for All Injuries

Don't settle for compensation that doesn't fully cover your injuries. Your attorney will fight for every cent you deserve, ensuring all injuries, both physical and emotional, are considered.

Conclusion

Maximizing your claim after an 18-wheeler accident is crucial to ensure you receive the compensation necessary to rebuild your life. These cases are inherently complex, involving multiple parties and intricate regulations. Seeking guidance from experienced 18-wheeler accident lawyers is the first step toward securing the resources you need for your recovery.

How to Zoom-In Instagram Photos on iPhone (without Jailbreak)

Instagram has been immensely prevalent since day #1, and for this we can undoubtedly credit the astonishing set of features and peculiarities that are available on the photograph driven social network. Instagram was launched back in 2010, however, much after such extraordinary years, the platform only allows individuals to post relatively low resolution photos.

In some cases things cannot even be seen effectively, due to low quality pictures. However, some users upload top-notch images but the platform still falls behind due to the unavailability of zoom-in feature, as such. Ordinarily, users try “double-tapping” a photo and end up with a “heart” — a disappointed heart, indeed.

We understand how important it is sometimes to have a closer look at a picture. That’s why we’ve come up with a little trick that’ll allow you to zoom Instagram pictures. Looking for the trick? Here we go!

How to Zoom-In Instagram Photos on iPhone

Apple’s iOS is quite cool. It has a built-in feature that allows you to zoom-in any picture, anyway and lets you see the clear details of it. So we’re keeping this in mind and we’ll use the feature for our purpose. To get started we’ll just enable the “zoom” feature with the steps below.

On your iPhone, open the Settings app.

Then, navigate to General followed by Accessibility.

There’s an option called Zoom, just flip it On

We’re ready to zoom any photo on Instagram.
Once you’ve enabled the gimmick, double-tap three fingers to zoom.
To move simple drag your three fingers, and to change the zoom double-tap three fingers and drag. The built in zoom feature of iOS simply magnifies any image file on the screen. So you can apply this tip to anything you like, just make sure the feature is enable in your Settings.

To exit the zoom double-tap with your three fingers once again, and you’ll go back to the normal zoom. Before you worry, be informed that this trick just magnifies a image, so the quality and resolution will perhaps be low.

Try out the new zoom feature in your iOS you just discovered. Go out, zoom Instagram pictures, Vine videos and more.

How to Backup/Restore WhatsApp Chat Messages and Photos on iPhone

To keep your messaging life in pace you must keep a backup of all your messages and other data including photos. For instance, in the event that you are a WhatsApp user, and you reset your device or uninstall the app, you’ll lose all your data. Of course you can reinstall the app later, yet without a backup, you will need to begin once again starting from scratch.

Making a backup of your WhatsApp chat messages and photos was very much hectic process during the initial versions of the app. Users had to manually copy the app installation files and folders to some safe place on their PC or cloud. Luckily, with time, the folks at WhatsApp have made it more simple and basic.

With the latest version of WhatsApp, you get to make a backup directly from the app. At the same time users can backup their data automatically utilizing a set period of time. So here we’ll be looking at the steps on both the backing up and then the restoration of your messages and photos in WhatsApp.

How to Backup WhatsApp Chat Messages and Photos on iPhone

Making a backup will make a copy of your WhatsApp chat messages. The backup will also include all media shared to your iCloud account, however WhatsApp does not supports sent and received videos in the backups, as of now.

Step #1. To make a backup of your WhatsApp data, first of all open the app and tap on the Settings tab at the bottom.

Step #2. While in Chat Settings, tap on Chat Backup and then select the Back Up Now button to instantly backup your chat messages and photos.

Step #3. Alternatively you can turn Auto Backup on and define a schedule for the loop.
Step #4. That’s it you have the backup!

How to Restore WhatsApp Chat Messages and Photos from Backup on iPhone

The backup you made using the steps above will be stored in your iCloud account. To restore that backup, follow these steps.

Step #1. Before you do anything else, double-check that you’re logged in using using the same Apple ID which was used during making the backup.

Step #2. If not already installed, install WhatsApp on your iPhone and launch it.

Step #3. Use your phone number to sign in to WhatsApp and keep in mind that to use the same phone number you were using prior.

Step #4. Upon signing in, you’ll be asked to restore the backup from iCloud.

That was all you needed to know, and before you click some other link, there’s a tip from iGeeksBlog. Since WhatsApp does not saves videos in backups, you can store them locally and sync with iTunes. Alternatively you can also upload them to some cloud storage services.

Camera App Freezes on iPhone 6/6 Plus: How to Fix This Issue

Recently some iPhone 6/6 Plus owners have reported that whenever they launch Camera app, it suddenly freezes and as a result they find nothing but black screen. Some users have even said that photographs are rotated to the wrong orientation. Why does it happen?

The sudden freezing of Camera app could be due to more than one reason such as, technical glitches, ill-conceived update. Whatever could be the reason, you want to get rid of it. Here are some possible fix to this bug.

How to Fix Camera App Freeze on iPhone 6/6 Plus

#1. Update Your iPhone to Latest iOS

This issue could be due to ill-conceived update as well. So, if there is any latest update available, upgrade your iPhone. Make sure to do so through iTunes as it is considered to be better than over the air update (Settings → General → Software Update).

Just connect your device to Mac or PC, launch iTunes, select your iPhone from the menu and update to the latest version. That’s it! It may be a bit lengthy but it is safer as compared to OTA update.

#2. Reset Your iPhone

Resetting your iPhone can do the trick for you. Many users have found success with it. Before you move ahead with this process, you need to know that resetting will make some minor changes with your phone. Though it won’t delete any files or photos.

Step #1. Launch Settings

Step #2. Tap on General

Step #3. Scroll down and tap on Reset

Step #4. Tap on Reset All Settings

That’s it!

Now, you will have to wait for a while until your iPhone restarts again. Hopefully, the bug will be fixed.

#3. Restore Your iDevice

If all the above mentioned solutions don’t work out, here is another trick. Restoring from a backup you made with an older iPhone could also be one of the possible reasons. In this event, setup your device as new, factory reset it. Of course, it will be a bit radical but it can help solve this bug.

Please Note: Restoring your iPhone will delete all the media and data and then install the latest version of software. Hence, you should backup all the data of your phone (Settings → iCloud) before going ahead with the process.

Step #1. Connect your iPhone to Mac or PC.

Step #2. Launch iTunes.

Step #3. Select your phone from the menu.

Step #4. Restore your iPhone.

That’s it.

From time to time some unknown issues keep surfacing with iPhone. At times, technical glitches due to the constant working of hardware might be the main culprit. Most of the times, you can get rid of such issues by simply powering down your device and then restarting it again

How to optimize Images and Increase Blog Traffic

This tutorial will explain you how to optimize images before uploading them on your blog. Generally, most of people don't optimize images before uploading it to Blogger as needed. Optimizing images should be done if you want to improve the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or your blog or site. Learning the correct and proper way of optimizing images in blogger is very important as well.

Google Image search is used widely for finding quality reference images, icons or photos. A great percentage of our blog traffic depends on Image search. When we are downloading images, most of the time they are saved with odd names and we don't take any interest in modifying the name. So we should always consider two things when uploading images on our blog - the proper use of the alt tag and changing the name of our images or pictures with the proper keyword.

1. Change Image Name with Keyword

When we are downloading images from the internet, generally they are saved in local drive with some very odd names like untitled.png, img.png etc. So changing these names with appropriate keywords is always helpful. For instance, if I want to add img or untitled in this post, then I would definitely change these name with those words - or keywords - that would describe the best my content; thus, if I want to add an image to a post about seo topics, then I would name it something like SEO.png or optimize-image.png so that it would be relevant to the post content.

2. Use alt attribute

Search robots cannot read multimedia, be it graphic images or flash. An image is meaningless for search spiders if it is not defined (tagged). Therefore, in order to tell the search robots what the image is about, we can add an alt tag to our image code - when we upload a photo inside the post editor, click on the image and below it, click on the Properties link:

After clicking on the Properties link, the Image properties box will popup. Inside the Title text section, type a relevant title for your image and below, and in the Alt text section, type a short description of your image... then press OK.
It is recommended to write short sentences to describe your pics and to keep the description limited to 4-5 words. Less is better. Also, make sure you don't use the same words, try to mix up your image keywords.

These are simple tips for SEO image optimization which are not only effective for your SEO but can also boost your traffic. If you are wondering how to get images for your blog,

Ways To Increase Page Impressions and Traffic on Your Blog

What is a Google AdSense "Page Impression"?

The page impressions or page views - how much time a user stays on your website and how many pages are visited. This is one of the most important things when talking about advertising. Page impressions are the result of good high quality traffic which is mostly based on the quality of the content available on your blog/website. If you build high quality content then people will enjoy navigating through your site and therefore, create page views.

In general, AdSense reports show the following fields of information:
Page Impression: how many times the page or pages containing the AdSense advertisement was shown to your blog/website visitors
Clicks: the number of times visitors clicked on an advertisement from your site
Page CTR: The clickthrough rate of an advertisement is defined as the number of clicks on an ad divided by the number of times the ad is shown (impressions), expressed as a percentage. (1) In most cases, a 2% click-through rate would be considered very successful, though the exact number is hotly debated.
CPC: is Cost Per Click. That is what Google pay you per click.
Estimated earnings: Your account balance for the time period selected. This amount is an estimate that is subject to change when your earnings are verified for accuracy at the end of every month.(2)
Below are some ways that could help you to increase the page impressions:

1. Navigation Menu

Create a navigation structure that is clear and easy to follow. You want to make sure that once you have a visitor, they can easily make it to other parts of your blog. Creating links within your blog pages is one of the best ways to increase the number of impressions for your website.

2. Posts Summary on Homepage

A very good method to increase your page views is to have a summary of your posts on your blog/website homepage. That will force visitors of your blog to click on posts link / read more button in order to see the full article. To show only a part (excerpt) of Blogger posts, read this tutorial:

3. Improve Blog/Website Load Time

If a blog’s pages load very slowly, then visitors will eventually lose patience and stop visiting more pages, sometimes sooner rather than later. A blog that has quick loading pages is a pleasure to browse and it encourages more clicks.

4. Add a Popular Posts widget

Another great way to engage your readers to stay more on your site/blog and to browse through your content and make more pageviews is to add a Popular Posts Widget where you share some of the best posts on your blog.

Here are some nice Popular Posts widgets for your Blogger blog:

5. Add a Random Posts Widget

If you have loyal visitors who come to your blog on a daily basis, a popular article widget will become boring just because they see it every day, with same posts. A random posts widget will mix the articles so that the probability for a post to repeat will be very low.

how to, tricks, awesome
Displaying a related posts is a smart way for keeping your site visitors around. The widget links to stories that are relevant and interesting to readers of a particular post, keeping them engaged with your blog, and increasing your traffic.

If you don't have it on your blog yet, see this Related Posts Widget tutorial for Blogger blogs: Add the Related Posts Widget with Thumbnails to Blogger

7. Add internal links to your content using related anchor text

Include a link in a new post to related information in a previous post. When you link to a previous post that you've written you should consider doing it so with descriptive words of the post, rather than generic words. (don't use simple words like "click here for more"). Adding links to previous articles will determine your visitors to view articles and automatically will be converted into page impressions.

8. Provide links into your social networks profiles or forums

Share your blog links on Facebook, Twitter or any other websites or popular forums. Answer to questions on the web. But be careful to not be too intrusive and always try to give pertinent info.
You wouldn't want to support or to be considered as a spammer, don't you?

9. Add a search box

A lot of websites does not have a search box. As a result, the visitor will leave the site if he didn't find anything further relevant. For best results, you should be using the Google custom search widget. You can embed the Google search box directly in your blog. The search results will be more relevant than those that are provided by your default search box.

10. Add Social media buttons

Give your visitors multiple options to tweet, bookmark and share your posts via Facebook as well as save your whole blog. Put social icons below your post and in the sidebar, make them visible and let them be found easily.

11. Use a clean background for your posts and readable fonts

Avoid dark backgrounds, tiny and sophisticated fonts, and make written content the visually most distinct part of your blog. If your main objective is to deliver a message and get the visitors reading your stuff, then you should make this process comfortable for them.

12. Advertising

And finally, getting people to your site may just be a matter of getting the word out. By using pay-per-click advertising, you can create an inexpensive advertising campaign to get more people to your site.

Following these tips will surely increase your blog's page views, which will make your blog traffic high in the future. Good luck!

Adding a Meta Description to Blogger

An important part of a good SEO is the implementation of meta tags, which are commonly located in the header of our website, that are being, in the same time, invisible to users visiting the site. Well, to be more succinct, these tags have only one purpose: to include information about the page such as author name, date, key word, description, title, among others.

However, here we will only mention one, which is the meta description in Blogger. This description will appear as a fragment in the search results and as a description when sharing on Google+, Facebook and other social networks. A clear and precise description increases the chances of getting more clicks or visits.
As we will work only on the Blogger platform, here I will leave a little guide to easily add a meta description.

Meta Description in Blogger

The first thing we will do is going to our Blogger dashboard and from there, go to Settings > Search preferences > Meta Tags > Description and click on Edit.

Then check the box "Yes" to enable search description. Finally, click the "Save Changes" button.

Adding Meta Description To individual Posts

Now we will focus on adding the meta description to individual pages. Simply edit the page or post, look for the Search Description setting, and there we enter the text and save by clicking the Done button.

And that's it. However it is best to test if it works and we will do so with the MetaChecker online tool, where we only have to introduce the url of a post or page, click Analyze and then it will show the results, including a complete analysis of keywords, on-page seo , meta tags, URLs, current server status and a rating bar that goes from Horror to Excellent.

If none of the meta descriptions appear (rarely fails), we can do the process manually, but it requires us to touch a bit of code. In this case, go to Template > Edit HTML and insert before <b:skin> the following code:
<b:if cond='data:blog.metaDescription != ""'>

</b:if>
Of course, we will use again the previously mentioned tool to ensure that the description is placed correctly and if all goes well, our blog would be ready to face a good SEO.
