Norway’s Martin Odegaard looks set to sign for Real Madrid

Norwegian superstar Martin Odegaard is set to choose between Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid after snubbing a number of European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea. The 16 year-old now eligible to look at clubs after being monitored from the age of 14 where he still plays at Stromsgodse A creative midfielder that has been compared to Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta, Odegaard made his national debut last year to become the youngest ever player to represent Norway at just 15 years of age. His reputation has then carried him across Europe where he’s visited Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Ajax and a number of Premier League clubs. But now with his future looking to be decided ahead of the summer reports suggest that he will choose between the Reds, Bayern and Spanish Giants Madrid after Norwegian journalist Marius Skelbaek confimed Stromsgodset will sell this month before he returns on loan for the remainder of the seasons. Skelbaek said: “I think he is going to be sold this month because his club needs the money and he only has one year left on his contract. “I think maybe Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are leading the race to sign him, and the latest rumour is that Martin is going to visit the Dutch talent industry this month, clubs like Ajax. “Dutch football could suit him right now and a lot of young players from Denmark and Sweden go to clubs like Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV and do great. “But it is possible he will move to England. He has been visiting all the big clubs in the Premier League. He is a big Liverpool fan. They are his and his father’s favourite club.” Odegaard has been wanted by top clubs ever since he made his debut with his club side. At just 16 years of age his best days are well ahead of him and it will now be a battle for his signature with money likely to play a big part.
