Wojceich Szczesny is confident that he will keep his place as Arsenal’s Premier League goalkeeper despite facing internal disciplinary action over smoking and being left out for the FA Cup win against Hull City. Arsenal face Stoke City on Sunday and Szczesny, who has always started this season in the Premier League or Champions League whenever he has been fully fit, is understood to have been personally reassured that he is in the team this weekend. Bizarrely, Szczesny was caught lighting a cigarette in the shower at St Mary’s after the 2-0 defeat at Southampton and is now facing a club fine from a furious Arsène Wenger.
